What a gruesome video! I am not sure I could tolerate this torture!

I have been out of touch with travel and then getting in the middle of the little ice storm that has cut me off from the world. Anyone miss me? Getting caught back up will take a little. No power until last night and the internet service just returned now. It has been a long dark week. Praise the Lord for a good old fashioned fireplace!

Did everyone else survive?

If these killers want to go kill in other countries, why would we allow them to return to America? This is the problem with allowing refugees from these barbaric countries to come here to recuperate - they soon return to the war and make our country look bad.

Eleven more AMERICANS arrested in Somaliland

More on this story. It seems like there were more arrests involving US citizens traitors, specifically Somali-Americans. Somaliland authorities arrested 11 Somali-Americans in connection to the smuggling of anti-aircraft weapons. The 11 Somali-Americans were trained by al Shabaab, aka the African Taliban, and according to authorities were supposed to carry out attacks in the capital of Somaliland.

So that brings the total of Somali-Americans arrested in Somaliland up to 15. At least five more traitors are on the loose somewhere on the horn of Africa. It's a good thing al Shabaab's website has been shut down, this should cut down on their recruitment ability.

Somaliland is an autonomous part of Somalia considered "friendly" to the U.S. Unlike the rest of the country, it has something resembling a functioning government.

Americans take for granted that there has been no Islamic terrorist attacks in the United States since September 11, 2001, and fewer elsewhere in the world. The counter-terrorism efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan are, in turn, blamed for somehow making the situation worse. In reality (which is not always a factor in forming public opinion), operations in Iraq and Afghanistan have crippled the al Qaeda, the Taliban and many other Islamic radical organizations. But many people don't want to believe it, unless something blows up near them. That's a reality check. Normally, however, reality is not the goal. Other agendas (partisan politics, religion or political correctness in general) are.

The Mystery Dead Of Gaza

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

People who study the Middle East know that terrorist groups LOVE to lie and the Media LOVE to believe any lie that they are told that makes the Jews look bad.

1300 dead has turned into about 500? Amazing how the lies have been perverted into truth. Again. I guess the Media will never learn that Muslims will gladly lie to them to further the Cause of the Mythical Palestine. Or anything else.

Well, the Media rules the World now. They elected BHO in the US based on lies, so they are used to printing lies to further the Liberal and anti-Western Cause(s).

http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htatrit/articles/20090125.aspx

The Mystery Dead Of Gaza January 25, 2009: Palestinians have found, in their decades of fighting Israel, that well crafted lies can be an effective weapon. The recent 22 day battle in Gaza, between Hamas and Israel, ended with the Palestinians claiming they had lost 1,300 dead, and the Israelis admitting to 13 (including four soldiers from friendly fire.) Now, as reporters get into Gaza, and start asking questions, the Palestinian death toll is starting to shrink. Medical personnel at the Palestinian hospitals say that there appeared to be no more than about 500 dead, and most of them were young males (guys of fighting age). Civilian dead appear to have been no more than a hundred or so.

When the Holocaust survivors are preparing to flee Europe a second time you might think that the Europeans might be a little embarrassed, but I think they are looking forward to getting rid of the perennial scapegoats. The Muslims will miss them, a little, but that is just because they will need to find a new group to harass.

http://www.spectator.co.uk/print/the-magazine/features/3276096/the-terrible-warning-of-a-holocaust-survivor.thtml

At my dinner table on Friday night, a holocaust survivor admits that she is trying to persuade her son to take his family out of Europe to America, Canada, Australia, Canada, Australia, Israel...'They say they can't leave me, but I tell them: "Go, get out. My parents left my grandparents behind in Berlin and brought me to safety in England. Now I want you to leave so that my grandchildren will be safe."' There is an unbearable desperation in her plea. But she has a point.

As tens of thousands of demonstrators march through the streets of Europe, the chants are modified but the message remains substantially intact: 'Hamas, Hamas, Hamas -- Jews to the Gas'. Or, more simply: 'Death to the Jews'. Many European Jews, even well-established, affluent Jews, have been checking the suitcase they keep packed under the bed. They have been here before and many are (albeit reluctantly) reading the writing on the wall.

To some extent I thought I was inured. I grew up in postwar apartheid South Africa where a subtle undercurrent of anti-Semitism was a fact of everyday life. So while I was disturbed by manifestations of mob anti-Semitism, I was also less vulnerable to shock. That's just how people are. Living in genteel, leafy Hampstead Garden Suburb provides an additional layer of protection from such crass outbursts.

But my sanguine state ends abruptly when I am out walking on Saturday. A hundred yards from my front door, I encounter the slogan, freshly painted in yellow, across the pavement: 'Kill the Filthy Jews'. I am shocked. And shocked that I am shocked. The message is too close for comfort. The leafy gentility is, after all, an illusion.

Those who study these matters tell me that the current convulsion of anti-Semitism is the worst in a generation. They also say that there is a direct, causal link with the Israeli military operation against Hamas in Gaza. Once upon a time, anti-Israel protesters insisted they were motivated by political animus against Zionism rather than racial prejudice against Jews. The Hamas Charter, which sets out of the guiding principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement -- xenophobic, racist and anti-Semitic -- removes the distinction.

One of al Qaeda's weaknesses is that it is dominated by Arabs. This often causes resentment when the non-Arabs find themselves left out of decision making, or on the short end when it comes to distribution of resources. This was first seen in Afghanistan, where the al Qaeda Arabs made themselves very unpopular several years before September 11, 2001. Now the bad feelings have spread to Pakistan. There, the hundreds of al Qaeda members hiding out in tribal areas along the Afghan border, have split along ethnic lines. The Arab al Qaeda, who still have access to lots of cash, have made themselves very unpopular with the al Qaeda members from Central Asia. The Central Asians, particularly Islamic radicals from Uzbekistan, always felt this was their turf, and that the Arab al Qaeda should recognize that, and not throw their weight, and money, around in a disrespectful (to the Uzbeks) manner. Over the last few years, Pakistani and U.S. intelligence operatives were able to use these bad feelings to get information on where al Qaeda leaders were hiding out. These men were either captured in Pakistan, or killed by American UAVs firing Hellfire missiles.

LPD Sent After Pirates

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I know that the Marines aren't really needed on the LPD for this mission, but I would love to know that at least a company of them was available to attack pirate and Iranian ships. Having them available to make assault landings and scare the snot out of the pirates would be great! The pirates are winning because they are not scared. Someone needs to scare them.

Would the Kenyan President scare them? I doubt it.

The U.S. amphibious ship USS San Antonio has arrived off the coast of Somalia, to serve as the flagship of the anti-piracy Task Force 151. The San Antonio is an LPD 17 type vessel. It displaces 24,900 tons and is 684 feet long. It has a crew of 360, and normally 720 marines and all their equipment are carried. For the anti piracy mission, there are only a few hundred specialist personnel embarked, including a platoon of American marines and a platoon of army military police. There is 25,000 square feet for vehicle storage and a 24 bed hospital, with two operating rooms and the ability to set up another hundred beds in an emergency.

US anti-piracy task force to intercept Iran's Hamas arms ship

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

USS San Antonio patrols Gulf of Aden

USS San Antonio patrols Gulf of Aden

The USS San Antonio amphibian warship, heading the Combined Task Force (CTF) 151 patrolling the Gulf of Aden for pirates, has been assigned with hunting down the Iranian cargo vessel carrying 60 tons of rockets and other arms for smuggling into Gaza.

This is revealed by DEBKAfile's exclusive military sources. CTF 151 is a new American force, announced in Washington Saturday Jan. 17, for fighting the Somali pirates plaguing the Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Red Sea, under the command of Rear Adm. Terry McKnight. These are the very waterways plied by Iranian arms smugglers for Hamas, often in conjunction with Somali pirates and Sinai Bedouin militias.

Massed on the San Antonio 's decks now cruising in the Gulf of Aden is a helicopter detachment, a "surgical team" for dealing with small speedboats trying to hem the ship in and boarding teams with their own small boats and helicopters. US marine and coast guard units make up the interception force.

Israel's foreign minister Tzipi Livni flew to Brussels Wednesday, Jan. 21, to discuss adding the European Union to the understanding she signed with the US last Friday for ending the flow of smuggled Iranian weapons to Gaza. Washington and Jerusalem hope to bring European governments aboard this understanding, capitalizing on the momentum generated by Israel's unilateral ceasefire and the support shown by six European leaders when they visited Egypt's Sharm el Sheik and Jerusalem Sunday Jan. 18.

Egypt and Israel are negotiating Cairo's end of the operation for stifling the influx of smuggled arms to Gaza. Livni is after undertakings by as many European governments as possible to allow their anti-piracy patrols with the CTF 151 to double for missions to intercept Iranian arms smuggling vessels. Our sources in Brussels report that she cannot count on getting all them all to join because some EU members willing to combat piracy may hold back from attack Iranian shipping.

Wow! I understand that the new President can NOT visit every ball, even one as Perfect as this one, but this is one that I know I would be HONORED to attend.

http://www.blackfive.net/main/2009/01/the-one-blows-o.html#more

Yep. Get used to it.

Our new CINC attended quite a few gatherings last night, but as This Ain't Hell reports, the Salute To Heroes Inaugural Ball was not one of them. For the first time in 56 years, a newly-inaugurated president has not attended the ball begun by President Eisenhower. 14 presidents later, a snub.

Go check it out over there- FORTY-EIGHT MoH recipients were in attendance. People- that's HALF of the recipients that are still alive, and darn well nearly all that are physically able to attend events.

Finally, someone says what I have understood, but not been able to say. Joe says it so easily that I feel shamed for not being able to get this out before. Amazing. Go read the rest of the article and then you will understand the reality there too.

Instead of the traditional family-based clan, the organizational clan has replaced it as the typical clan structure (but not as a national clan concept, just a local one). And all the while, the model of one clan trying to gain superiority over the others is just as strong as ever.

Hamas needs to fight Israel to show that it is the stronger clan than Fatah - no different than the Shiites and the Sunnis. Both (Hamas and Fatah) want to see Israel replaced by an Arab state, they just disagree on the methods, and which clan should have control.

It is about time he did this! Even this commutation is the barest minimum the President could do for these poor scapegoats. They should have been pardoned and given reprimands for not shooting the drug smuggler dead, then returned to their jobs and see how many more smugglers try the border.

Also, this was not really a debate about illegal immigrants, it was a debate about border security. This is a border for the country, not the border of a playground. If we have to fence off our playgrounds because of criminals and drug smugglers, why are the national borders not being closed to these scum? If prosecutors are allowing tons of drugs to be carried over the border, then what is going to stop tons of bombs? Even nuclear or biological weapons? That is what I am really worried about!

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D95QC5OO0&show_article=1

In his final acts of clemency, President George W. Bush on Monday commuted the prison sentences of two former U.S. Border Patrol agents whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited fierce debate about illegal immigration.

Bush's decision to commute the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who tried to cover up the shooting, was welcomed by both Republican and Democratic members of Congress. They had long argued that the agents were merely doing their jobs, defending the American border against criminals. They also maintained that the more than 10-year prison sentences the pair was given were too harsh.

Rancor over their convictions, sentencing and firings has simmered ever since the shooting occurred in 2005.

Ramos and Compean became a rallying point among conservatives and on talk shows where their supporters called them heroes. Nearly the entire bipartisan congressional delegation from Texas and other lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle pleaded with Bush to grant them clemency.

Bush didn't pardon the men for their crimes, but decided instead to commute their prison sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations, a senior administration official said.

The action by the president, who believes the border agents received fair trials and that the verdicts were just, does not diminish the seriousness of their crimes, the official said.

I am glad to see that in Canada they can turn away known terrorists, Too bad they can't arrest them, but it is a start.

Niiiiiice: Canada Turns Bill Ayers Away at the Border

Friend of Barack Obama and unapologetic former terrorist Bill Ayers was scheduled to speak at the University of Toronto today in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Given King's commitment to non-violence, this is ironic, no?

But when he showed up at the border yesterday the Canadians wouldn't let him in. Someone buy that Mountie a beer.

Hamas terrorists admit that they are/were surprised at the sleeping bear they awoke. Even better, all the footage of the terrorists using children and women as human shields has broken away much of the international support they used to enjoy.

What a bunch of wimps and cowards. They enjoyed the sick power of beating women and children and blaming the Jews. Now they are having to hide for their crimes. Too bad that Olmert did not finish them when he had his hands around their figurative throat.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/129461

Hamas: We Didn't Expect it Two captured terrorists interviewed by Maariv/NRG say that Hamas was not expecting Israel's response to the escalation in missile attacks on Israeli targets that preceded Operation Cast Lead. One of them, a 52-year-old victim of a premature detonation who had already done time in an Israeli jail, said, "Hamas took a gamble. We thought, at worst Israel will come and do something from the air - something superficial. They'll come in and go out. We never thought that we would reach the point where fear will swallow the heart and the feet will want to flee. You [Israel] are fighting like you fought in '48. What got into you all of a sudden?"

The second terrorist, a 21-year-old, said Hamas brought order to Gaza, but also brought fear. He noted that it was dangerous in Gaza for non-Hamas members, citing an instance of his being beaten and another in which he saw a friend killed when he went to get gas. "Now they're all gone," he said. "There have been no Hamasniks in the streets since the start of the campaign."

Solomonia: A Very Loud Boom

You need to read the rest of this. It is horrifying what the poor people who live in southern Israel have to tolerate in the name of Peace.

I think all the sick bastards who are supporting Palestine need to move to the area around Gaza and tell the Israelis how the Jews are evil for returning fire. Hiding in other countries is for cowards! Get out of the West and give your Peace marches a Chance in south Israel. Defend your faith in Peace and march around the edge of Gaza to show that Hamas is not really shelling anyone and the Jews are lying and committing Genocide. All the poor innocents of Gaza are now dead because the Jews have committed Genocide! Ahhhhh!

At 12:40 I left Tel Aviv and drove, at high speed, in the direction of Beer Sheva. I entered the city, turned to the right. I reached a T-junction just before the square with the aircraft at its center. I was waiting for the red light to change when I heard on radio 2 network "A warning siren in Beer Sheva" [He had been informed by forum posters about the radio station to tune to for warnings in the area. -S]. I got out of the car. I looked around and saw no one getting out of their cars and heard no siren. As I got back into my car, the siren went off. There was a 6 second delay between the time I heard the announcement on the radio and the time I heard the actual alarm. I killed the engine and dashed off like crazy towards a row of houses nearby. I entered into a courtyard, saw a door and went in. Inside a man was standing. I said: "Sorry to barge in like that. May I?" He said: "Yes, of course, get into the fortified room (Mamad), hurry up, fast."

I went into the shelter with a family of complete strangers, a grandfather, a grandmother, a young man and his crying little daughter. A few seconds later we heard a very loud boom that shook the entire house. The child started crying frantically.

Three minutes later we left the room. Into the home a man burst in, holding his 16 year old daughter who was hysterical. They had been outside, lying on the ground, and heard the very loud explosion very close. The family managed to quiet down the girl. We gradually settled down in this man's house, a man I don't know at all.

Hazem Shuman: "Dying Means Meeting Allah, So Why Do We Fear Death and Martyrdom?"

Egyptian cleric Hazem Shuman: "Why do we hate death? We do not avoid or fear death. We avoid and fear only the Hellfire.

[...]

"Do you want to enter Paradise? Of course you do. We all do. You will never enter Paradise until you die. Do you love the Prophet Muhammad? You love him very much. Me too. You will never get to see him or embrace him until you die.

[...]

"The reason for the 1967 defeat, for the 1948 calamity, for the loss of all our lands, for the fall of Baghdad, for the occupation, for Darfur, for the problems in South Sudan, for the colonialism that lasted throughout the 20th century is our hatred of death. Sheikh Amin and I reached the TV station together, and without arranging this in advance, we decided to come here to fight the hatred of death. We must love death, just like the companions of the Prophets.

[...]

"Dying means meeting Allah, so why do we fear death and martyrdom? We watch the martyrs in Gaza... We are not saddened by their deaths, because they are martyrs. We are sad only about the humiliating way they were killed, and about the humiliating circumstances in which we live. We do not hate martyrdom." [...]

"The Man is Under Siege, Living in Distress... With His Wives and Children in Anxiety; All Of a Sudden... They Find Themselves in Paradise"

I already liked that His O'ly-ness had appointed a military expert to get the intelligence community under control, but reading this anecdote just makes me like him even more. How is it that Obama is able to get it right on some of these appointments, while his other appointments are so insane?

For instance, Leon Panetta as the head of the CIA? I am better qualified than he is! I might not have the connections to the Democrat Party that can get me a job like that, but I know many other things.

Maybe this is a sign that the CIA, being subservient to the DNI, is going to become a political position? Like FEMA used to be and might return to being someday.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jan/18/admiral-takes-new-tack-with-DNI-position/

When Adm. Dennis C. Blair was in China as commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific, a Chinese admiral confronted him rather aggressively on the issue of Taiwan, warning the United States not to interfere in China's campaign to gain control of the self-governing island.

Admiral Blair listened for a minute, then said: "Admiral, let me tell you a couple of things. First, I own the water out there," gesturing toward the Pacific Ocean. "And second, I own the sky over the water out there. Now, don't you think we should talk about something more constructive?"

The anecdote, confirmed by Adm. Blair, illustrates the sort of plain speaking that characterizes the man President-elect Barack Obama has nominated to be the nation's top intelligence officer. As Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the retired admiral would be responsible for setting objectives and standards for 16 disparate intelligence agencies including the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency, and for coordinating their sometimes conflicting operations.

Aim For The Red Cross

Aim For The Red Cross
January 17, 2009: British commanders have now ordered their medical personnel to carry, and be ready to use, their weapons when going after casualties in combat zones. Since September 11, 2001, U.S. combat medics have been operating under the same rules. But even in Vietnam, it was noted that the communist troops tended to ignore the "rules of war" that were supposed to give medical personnel some immunity from enemy fire. Both the communist and Islamic fighters believed all the enemy troops were fair game, and that medical personnel were preferred targets, because of the negative effect it has on enemy morale when their medics or doctors get killed.

British medics tried to apply the Geneva Conventions in Afghanistan, but found that they were often targets of enemy fire, even though their red cross symbols were plainly visible. The enemy attitude was particularly disheartening because British medics often treated enemy wounded as well, in addition to Afghan civilians. Didn't matter. For the Taliban and al Qaeda, anyone who wasn't working for them was considered a target. So now British medics are under orders to go into action armed, and to use their weapons to defend themselves, and their patients, when necessary.

Who was Said Mohammad Siyam?
By Matthew Levitt

Sheikh Said Mohammad Siyam, killed in an Israeli airstrike this week, was one of the most senior political and military leaders of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. His death is a significant loss to Hamas, both politically and militarily. Indeed, he offers a telling case study of the types of leaders now running Hamas in Gaza.

Born in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza , Siyam became a former protégé of Sheik Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi, co-founder of Hamas, and was a former teacher at an UNWRA school. An early member of Hamas, he was first arrested during the First Intifada, in 1988, by Israel for security offenses and for his membership to the organization. Four years later, in 1992, he was one of the hundreds of Hamas members deported to southern Lebanon. He emerged as a spokesman of Hamas in early 2004. In the 2006 elections, Siyam won a seat in the Palestinian Parliament, representing Gaza City. Shortly after, he was appointed Interior Minister, where he established Hamas's Executive Force. In a 2007 interview with Ma'an News Agency, he stated that the Executive Force was one of his achievements "which I felt proud of." The Executive Force, under Siyam's direction, played a significant role in armed confrontation with Fatah. Considered a hardline leader, Siyam lost his cabinet posts when Fatah and Hamas formed a short-lived national unity government in March 2007. He was soon appointed as the head of Hamas's Parliamentary Bloc by the Shura Council. Siyam's influence in the Gaza Strip continued to grow, as he was a leader of the Executive Force, and he was instrumental in Hamas's take over of the Gaza Strip in June 2007. In the Hamas government, Siyam was considered to have the role of Defense Minister. He was killed on January 15, 2009 by a bomb dropped by the Israeli Air Force. His assassination is the second, after Nizar Rayyan, of Hamas's top leadership in the Gaza Strip.

For the Hamas, politics and terrorism are just two equally legitimate and viable tactics to reach their desired goals. It should therefore not surprise that Hamas seeks to muddy the waters between its political, social and military activities.

Nor should anyone have been shocked when Hamas took pages straight from the Hezbollah playbook and developed a coherent strategy leveraging parallel and complementary political, social, military and terrorist activities.

As the international community presses the parties to conclude a ceasefire agreement, one critical yardstick by which any agreement must be measured is not only its focus on preventing Hamas from rearming through the Rafah tunnels but also the extent to which it denies Hamas political victories for its recent military adventurism. Said Siyam school of Hamas leadership -- effortlessly merging terrorsim and politics -- must not be allowed to carry the day.

The Best of the Bush Years

GWP has a long list of things that President Bush did for us.

Not Reagan, but not too shabby.

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/01/bush-farewell-address-he-kept-us-safe.html

President Bush:

"As the years passed, most Americans were able to return to life much as it had been before 9/11. But I never did. Every morning, I received a briefing on the threats to our Nation. And I vowed to do everything in my power to keep us safe."

** Consolidated 22 agencies and 180,000 employees under one agency, the Department of Homeland Security, to foster a comprehensive, coordinated approach to protecting our country.

** Provided our military with the tools, equipment, and resources to combat terrorism and other emerging threats and started moving American forces from Cold War garrisons in Europe and Asia so they can deploy more quickly to any region of the world.

** Established a unified, collaborative intelligence community, led by the DNI, to ensure information is shared among all intelligence and law enforcement professionals so they have the information they need to protect the American people.

** Combined the counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and intelligence elements of the FBI under the leadership of a senior FBI official.

This is just cool! No way that any of the US politicians would gather like this to support an anti-terrorist operation!

I wonder how many US congressional beings would dare to appear in a rally like this? Would it be over ten?

Let me guess - this traitor is a Jew, so we should bomb Israel?

Why is it that so many Muslims leave the lands they are living in to come to the West and destroy it? If you like living in an Islamic country, then go live there! Stay put! Don't move to America and then work to destroy it. Just keep your happy butt at home. We don't want it.

Not a surprise that this piece of trash comes from Detroit. Not much of anything good comes from there anymore. It is a Third World Country disguised as an American city. It sucks the wealth of real Americans into its ravenous welfare state and is dragging the whole country into the Third World with it. What a waste of humanity.

This guy is a traitor and deserves to be hung like a traitor. I know that will not happen, but it should. I wonder if Obama will pardon him?

A suburban Detroit man accused of spying for Iraq has pleaded guilty to providing information to that country's intelligence agency in 2002 and 2003.

Najib Shemami likely faces about four years in federal prison when he's sentenced in May. But defense lawyer Ed Wishnow says he'll argue that his client was being coerced by Saddam Hussein's regime.

Shemami, 60, pleaded guilty Friday to aiding Iraq without approval from the U.S. government. He's accused of traveling to Iraq to report on U.S. and Turkish military activities and to supply information about Iraqi natives living in the United States.

Shemami's case began with documents obtained by the government after the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Let me guess - this is just racial/religious profiling? The fact that the terrorists are meeting and coordinating at Muslim convention is just a coincidence? They were probably trying to get to a Christian convention, but took a wrong turn?

Islam is Peace? Islam is Submission! Submitting to Allah and committing Jihad is the backbone of Islam. Will anyone try to prove me wrong? A nice couple of Koranic quotes with the Sunna and Hadiths to back them up?

Who can help?

Two cousins from the Chicago area accused of training to kill U.S. soldiers in Iraq pleaded guilty to terrorism charges Thursday, federal prosecutors said.

The two were part of a plot organized by three men living in Toledo who were convicted last year of recruiting terrorists and raising money to fund their plans to wage a holy war against U.S. troops, prosecutors said.

The two cousins received training in firearms and counter-surveillance so they could join the insurgency, prosecutors said.

Khaleel Ahmed, 28, of Chicago and Zubair Ahmed, 28, of suburban North Chicago both pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

Each faces a maximum of 15 years in prison. Messages seeking comment were left with attorneys for both men.

The two men were arrested in February, months after the three men in Ohio were accused of plotting attacks.

Prosecutors said Marwan El-Hindi of Toledo recruited the cousins in 2004 to join his cell in Toledo. They all met at a Muslim convention in Cleveland with a former U.S. military man who worked undercover and helped foil the plot, prosecutors said.

I find it interesting that the Media is trying so hard to play up the number of deaths in Gaza, especially the deaths of children, but when the children are proven to be teenage fighters dying with guns in their bloody hands the Media finds a way to ignore it. Praise the Lord that someone is tracking this.

If you go read more of the Elder, then you can find more stories of atrocities in Gaza. It is worth looking at.

http://elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2009/01/todays-named-deaths-in-gaza-plus-child.html

Today's named deaths in Gaza, plus a "child"

Ma'an actually names some of the people who were killed today in Gaza. Out of the 27 people named, 22 were known "militants" and two are ambiguous. All were men.

If we exclude the two who are unclear, this means that 88% of those named were confirmed terrorists.

One in particular is of interest: Muhammad Nader Abu Sha'ban, aged 17. He was fighting at the time he was killed, but there is no doubt that Gazan doctors will count him as a child civilian, not as a "militant."

Over the years, a significant number of the "children" that Israel has killed in various operations have been 16 or 17, far out of proportion to what one would expect in a normal distribution - and a great number of them were engaged in violent actions at the time they were killed.

Over half of the "child" victims in Gaza over the past year have been 15 or older. There is no reason to think that this number is any different now.

Keep that in mind every time someone quotes a statistic on how many children the IDF killed. Many if not most of them are very likely to have hardly been innocent.

This is just way too cool! I think we can expect something like this to show up in 24 or some other show or movie now that reality has exceeded even the crud we see out of Hollywood.

Watch this over and over. It is totally cool!

A video so awesomely awesome, that one must recalibrate the awesomeness scale after seeing it! Here's the synopsis:

IDF officers get attacked by Hamas. One Hamas bad guy gets popped right off the bat. The other Hamas guy throws a grenade. He must have thrown it like a girl, because it's way off. IDF now aware of second Hamas guy who prepares to throw second grenade.

Instead of running away, the Charles Atlas of the IDF runs toward the Hamas guy, picks him up, and shields himself from the blast with the unlucky 90 pound wimp's body.

The score? Two Hamas terrorists dead, one bad ass mo-fo from the IDF slightly wounded.

DEBKAfile's military sources sum up the Egyptian-Hamas ceasefire accord presented to Israel as no better than a repeat formula of last year's failed informal truce, which led to the outbreak of the current Gaza fighting. One senior officer told us: For this we didn't have to go to war."

Now as then, Egypt is fashioning separate understandings with Hamas and Israel. While tying Israel's military hands, these deals permit Hamas to claim it has come out of the fighting ahead, after Israel refrained from either toppling its Gaza government or extinguishing its missile capabilities.

Thursday, Jan. 15, two Israeli envoys headed out - the foreign ministry's director general Aharon Ambramovich to Washington and the defense ministry's political adviser Amos Gilead to Cairo - to hear about the proposed American and Egyptian ceasefire mechanisms for controlling weapons smuggling through Sinai and the Philadelphi Corridor. Hamas took this as a signal to intensify its assaults on the southern Israel population: 20 missiles and rockets were launched before 10:00 a.m.Thursday; 23 Wednesday, one of which landed more than 70 km from Gaza - the furthest distance ever reached by a Hamas rocket.

DEBKAfile's military sources note that even if the two mechanisms are agreed between the US, Egypt and Israel, it could be a year or more before they are in place. Only then, can their efficacy begin to be tested. All that time, Hamas will be free to restock its arsenal through the Philadelphi smuggling tunnels and calibrate its missile fire - in exactly the same way as Hizballah replenishedd its armory from Syria and Iran after the 2006 war and still shoots rockets at will under the noses of UN monitors.

Therefore, although easily vanquished on the battlefield, the Hamas terrorists are winning the diplomatic war against a compliant Israel.

In a similar theme, I think we need to know more about the US involvement in this horrible "Peace" Deal. There are rumors that the incoming Obama flacks were allowed to lead some of the negotiations. I can understand some of this being allowed in somethings, but Obama is appointing people who claim to want to destroy Israel! If the US negotiator wants the terrorists to win, of course the "peace deal" will be slanted towards the terrorists! What a crock.

I love the Royal Marines! They have been favorites of mine since I was a kid and they keep proving they are worthy of my devotion. When I was in England I met a few of them and visited some of their bases, and they impressed me even more.

This is how to fight this war - take it to the enemy and chase them until they are broken.

http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htinf/articles/20090114.aspx

British Marine Commandos (all British marines are commandos) recently conducted an 18 day operation against the Taliban in southern Afghanistan. This operation, involving 1,500 marines and a few hundred Danish and Afghan troops, serves as a model for the kind of operations possible as several additional brigades of American troops enter the area over the next year.

The British marines killed over a hundred Taliban, and lost five of their own. More importantly, they also killed a key Taliban leader in the area, seized $3 million worth of opium (such drugs are a major source of income for the Taliban) and an IED workshop. The British marines chased down the Taliban, who tried to flee. Staying on the Taliban day after day, the marines ultimately shattered the local organization. The operation disrupted the ability of several hundred Taliban to operate and crippled their support and command network. The operation also had a bad effect on Taliban morale, and the willingness of locals to support, or simply tolerate, the Taliban.

The British made it very clear that they could decisively defeat the Taliban, and go after the enemy wherever they were, and no matter how hard their fought back. The British, in effect, dominated the battlefield, and the enemy. Multiply this several times, and run these operations constantly, and the Taliban military capability will be broken. This is nothing new. It's been done before to the Afghan tribal warriors, and accounts of such disasters are among the less popular tribal legends throughout the region.

This is more from Iowahawk. Have a good laugh and take the link to read the rest!

Defining Torture Down

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I am tired of how the Media and Liberals, is there a difference?, are whining about "torture" that is in reality just trying to embarass bad guys until they can't take it anymore. That is not that bad! From the sounds of it, most frateraties haze worse than this. Military bootcamp, except maybe air force, is tougher than this. Even police training is tougher!

The reason that Liberals think this is torture is that they are pussies who think that having to climb stairs, away from the gym, is torture. They think that it is torture having to take a cab to pick up their government check. They think it is torture to have to bathe more than once a week. Well, except for the gays who tend to be very clean.

Another thing that Liberals find to be torturous is acting like Americans. It is very easy for them to move to a country they might like, but that is too much like work. Pussies.

The Lord knows I am tired of Liberals. Their constant whining is a torture to me and I am sick of it!

End the real torture!

Defining Torture Down

The new definition of "torture:"

"For 160 days his only contact was with the interrogators," said Crawford, who personally reviewed Qahtani's interrogation records and other military documents. "Forty-eight of 54 consecutive days of 18-to-20-hour interrogations. Standing naked in front of a female agent. Subject to strip searches. And insults to his mother and sister."

At one point he was threatened with a military working dog named Zeus, according to a military report. Qahtani "was forced to wear a woman's bra and had a thong placed on his head during the course of his interrogation" and "was told that his mother and sister were whores." With a leash tied to his chains, he was led around the room "and forced to perform a series of dog tricks," the report shows.

I think it is safe to say that anyone who has been following events in either of these countries is laughing at how obvious this report is. Come on! Both countries are fighting what are essentially civil wars but are not mobilizing forces to make it seem like they are NOT fighting those civil wars.

OK, that sounds convoluted, but it is true. Neither State wants to seem like they are failing or having a civil war, yet both are. The denial is killing both of them. If either wants to survive they will have to mobilize and declare open warfare on the insurgent elements. I do not think either country is strong enough anymore to do this, however. I wonder what they will look like in another five years?

With other information sources confirming this it is hard to understand why either country is not failed in the mode of Somalia

Military Report: Mexico, Pakistan at Risk of 'Rapid and Sudden Collapse'

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Mexico and Pakistan are at risk of a "rapid and sudden collapse," according to a recent report from the U.S. Joint Forces Command.

The assessment comes as President-elect Barack Obama prepares to tackle international challenges including the conflict in Gaza, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and tensions between India and Pakistan.

"In terms of worst-case scenarios for the Joint Force and indeed the world, two large and important states bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse: Pakistan and Mexico," the report says.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Joint Forces Command said the latest assessment was likely written before the Mumbai attacks which further inflamed tensions in South Asia.

The Joint Operating Environment report, meant to examine worldwide security trends, says Pakistan, in the event of such a rapid collapse, would be susceptible to a "violent and bloody civil and sectarian war" made more dangerous by concerns over the country's nuclear arsenal.

The report says that "perfect storm of uncertainty" by itself might require U.S. engagement.

The report says a collapse in Mexico seems less likely, but noted that the government infrastructure is "under sustained assault and pressure" from drug cartels and gangs. A collapse within the United States' southern neighbor would also "demand an American response based on the serious implications for homeland security alone."

Obama met earlier this week with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Joint Forces spokeswoman Kathleen Jabs told FOXNews.com the purpose of the assessment is not necessarily to predict future crises with 100 percent certainty, but to start a dialogue among world leaders by "looking at the trends."

The Department of Homeland Security has approved a site at Kansas State University for a $450 million lab to study livestock diseases and some of the world's most dangerous biological threats.

DHS released its final record of the approval Monday, confirming a decision announced in December to build the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility at the Manhattan, Kan., campus to replace an aging lab at Plum Island, N.Y.

Sites in Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and Texas were also considered for the new lab, where animal diseases and other potential bioterrorism threats will be researched.

The federal agency said factors in its decision included the proximity of the site to Kansas State's research labs and its colleges of agriculture and veterinary medicine.

Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said he will work to ensure the project is fully funded. The state has agreed to provide more than $105 million in infrastructure improvements at the site to cover additional costs.

"This is great news. NBAF is a great win for Kansas and Kansas is a great win for NBAF," said Brownback, a Republican.

The laboratory is to be built on 59 acres at Kansas State near the Biosecurity Research Institute, where similar activities are conducted on plant and animal diseases.

University officials have said that the lab could conduct a portion of the research that will be done at NBAF until that facility is completed, which is expected to be by 2015.

IDF combs its way through Gaza

The reason that Israel is refusing to treat this war as a war is that the West is pressuring them so much to treat this terrorist population as terrorists.

It is past time to level Gaza and restart it. Of course, there is not a country in the world that will accept the Gazan population. They are the outcasts of the world. I pity them for their condition, but can think of no way to fix it in this lifetime.

http://samsonblinded.org/news/idf-combs-its-way-through-gaza-5709

Israeli troops comb slowly through northern Gaza: destroy tunnels, weapons caches, and booby-trapped houses, engage small numbers of militants in fights. Israeli government refuses to recognize facts of international law. Once a significant proportion of local population reneged on truce, war resumes, and the entire population becomes an acceptable collateral damage. Where guerrillas operate without uniforms, any suspiciously-looking civilians become legitimate targets, and their blood is on the guerrillas-turned-terrorists.

Hamas Rejects Ceasefire

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Hamas has repeatedly claimed that ceasefires are only to allow them to regroup and rearm so that they can destroy Israel. What incentive does Israel have to negotiate another ceasefire? Besides Western pressure that refuses to allow the goals of Hamas into consideration.

Wankers all around.

Keep fighting until the fight is over! No more half measures!

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/129310

Despite taking heavy losses in the Cast Lead operation in Gaza, Hamas announced Thursday that it rejects an Egyptian-French truce initiative. According to Al-Arabiyya, Hamas leaders in Damascus called the proposal "insufficient."

Hamas has insisted that Israel allow it to use western Negev crossings to import and export goods under any ceasefire deal.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had accepted the ceasefire deal. Both Israel and Hamas denied the report. However, Israeli diplomats said Israel was "seriously considering" the proposal.

Under the ceasefire deal, Israel would withdraw from Gaza immediately and Gaza terrorists would stop firing rockets at Israel. Israeli leaders have insisted that the deal should include a guarantee that Hamas will keep its word, and Sarkozy recently said he would do "whatever necessary" to ensure that both sides would obey the ceasefire.

Eleven gay bars in Seattle were sent letters Tuesday threatening ricin attacks -- in what some are describing as a hate crime.

The anonymous letters say, "I have in my possession approximately 67 grams of ricin with which I will indiscriminately target at least five of your clients. ... I expect them to die painfully while in hospital."

A 12th letter was sent to the alternative weekly The Stranger, according to its Web site. That letter says the paper should be "prepared to announce the deaths of approximately 55 individuals."

The letter lists the bars as: The Elite, Neighbours, The Wildrose Bar, The Cuff, Purr, The Seattle Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, C.C.Attle's, Madison Pub and The Crescent. The letter implies the attacks will take place one Saturday this month.

In a statement, the Seattle Police Department said it takes the threat seriously. It has seized the letters and is processing them and is coordinating efforts with the FBI and other federal agencies.

Separated by battle lines and a stream of rush-hour traffic outside a federal courthouse last week, at least 200 pro-Palestinian demonstrators faced off against a smaller crowd of Israel supporters.

Most of the chants were run-of-the-mill; men and women waving Palestinian flags called Israel's invasion of Gaza a "crime," while the pro-Israel group carried signs calling the Hamas-run territory a "terror state."

But as the protest continued and crowds grew, one woman in a hijab began to shout curses and slurs that shocked Jewish activists in the city, which has a sizable Jewish population.

"Go back to the oven," she shouted, calling for the counter-protesters to die in the manner that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust.

"You need a big oven, that's what you need," she yelled.

I am so worried about my safety. It is bad enough to have to worry about the terrorists and gangs that are infiltrating our safe neighborhoods, but now the new President and his staff want to remove anything that might deter those criminals.

You break into my house, I will keep my gun hidden but you will wear a few inches of steel. it makes less spray to clean up and is less noisy.

McCarthyism is back! They want to take your guns and control your mind. Beware what you say.

http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=85507

The submission is H.R. 1022 by New York Democrat Carolyn McCarthy and 67 co-sponsors. It was introduced in February 2007 and the next month referred to the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, where it has stayed.

But that could change in the 111th Congress, sworn in today. And Korwin said the plan would allow the U.S. Attorney General - possibly Holder - to add to the list of guns banned to the public any "semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General."

"Note that ... Holder ... wrote a brief in the (District of Columbia) Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home," Korwin said.

In making this determination, the bill says, "there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event."

"In plain English," Korwin said, "This means that any firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public. That presumption can be challenged only by suing the federal government over each firearm it decides to ban, in a court it runs with a judge it pays. This virtually dismisses the principles of the Second Amendment.

"The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn't have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose - is that devious or what? And of course, 'sporting purpose' is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent," he said.

The UN is such a poor joke. My favorite professor was a huge supporter of the UN and was an expert on the topic, but I always felt he overestimated their goodwill and underestimated their interest in the defeat of democracy. I willingly admit that the UN was a great force during the first two or three decades after its inception. I admit they they had great potential for good. I admit that they have lost their way and the forces of darkness have replaced the forces of good.

What good comes out of the UN today? Even things that seem to be well intentioned seem to have a destructive backlash. It is depressing.

http://www.melaniephillips.com/articles-new/?p=635

there is no 'genuine human rights agenda' at the UN; it has been hijacked not by the NGOs but by the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, the body representing the world's Islamic states.

That's why -- surreally -- the Durban II preparatory committee is chaired by a Libyan, Najat al-Hajjaji, with Iran as the vice-chair, Cuba as the rapporteur and other major human-rights offenders such as Russia and Pakistan also among its members. In short, the UN has turned 'human rights' into their antithesis -- and specifically into a weapon to destroy the right to statehood of the Jewish people.

Last month, the UN General Assembly President Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann said Israeli policies amounted to apartheid and 'must be outlawed' and met by a 'campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions to pressure Israel'.

It is the UN and the architects of Durban II who are the racists and murderous bigots. Negotiating with them at all merely gives them legitimacy. For those committed to genuine human rights, there is only one option. Denounce this sick farce, and pull out now.

The animals are eating each other. This is not a bad thing is it? Unless you are one of the terrorists being shot.

As is shown in the last line I clipped, Hamas is falling apart and everyone knows it. Also, everyone knows that Hamas started this war and was begging for it.

I think that is why Hezballah has not jumped in. Yet. While the Communists, Leftists, fascists, Media and other terror supporters are horrified that the Israelis would dare to protect themselves, even the Muslims can tell that Hamas wanted this fight and is very likely to be pummeled to death.

Besides the usual suspects, who will miss the Hamas terrorists?

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/01/hamas-turns-on-fatah-officials-in-gaza.html

The Hamas government has placed dozens of Fatah members under house arrest out of fear that they might exploit the current IDF operation to regain control of the Gaza Strip.

The move came amid reports that the Fatah leadership in the West Bank has instructed its followers to be ready to assume power over the Gaza Strip when and if Israel's military operation results in the removal of Hamas rule.

Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken.

Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets.

Meanwhile... Some sanity in the Strip-- 60% of Gazans say Hamas was wrong to end ceasefire.

Is it an act of war when a government body, like these idiots are, declares war upon another government? I think it is. Iran has now declared war upon so many neighbors and other world powers that it is only fair to expect Israel and Egypt to work together to destroy Iran and its proxies in the region.

That is an interesting pairing, isn't it?

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/01/iranians-announce-1-million-reward-for.html

The regime-run news agency, Fars News reported that the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced a one million dollar reward for individuals who assassinate the president of Egypt. The news agency wrote:

"The ceremony for the designation of the reward for the revlutionary execution of the filthy traitor, Husni Mubarak has been organized through the justice-seeking movement of the (militant Basij) students as well as the cooperation of various other organizations. During this ceremony Forooz Rejaii, the secretary general of the organization entitled Rewarding The Martyrs of the World of Islam (and the suicide bombers brigade) spoke."

It is important to that the Rewarding The Martyrs of the World of Islam is an organization designed and supervised by the Iranian revolutionary guards.

Roy Boehm of Punta Gorda, a cantankerous retired U.S. Navy lieutenant commander who fought three wars, started the Navy's first SEAL team and shared his harrowing adventures --and his battles against military bureaucracy --in an autobiography, has completed his last mission.

Roy Boehm, who had struggled with health problems for many years, died at home Tuesday night. He was 84.

His widow, Susan Boehm, declined to be interviewed about her husband. In fact, she pleaded that no story be written.

Susan said she was trying to carry out her husband's last wish, that his death not be publicized.

He wanted no obituary, no funeral service and no fanfare over his death, Susan said.

"He just wanted to go in peace," she said.

Boehm, however, had become a legend nationally for the historic role he played in pioneering unconventional warfare tactics.

Gazan lies and Media bias. Disturbing? Nope, just business as usual.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/revealing-silence-at-the-gaza-egypt-border/

Hamas initially offered two reasons for not allowing the wounded out: 1) the roads were too dangerous to venture out on, and 2) they were composing a list of the wounded. Both of these are just the kind of lame excuse that, had they been voiced by Israeli spokesmen, the BBC interviewers would have jumped all over them. Israelis have targeted only military and government sites; no ambulances have been hit and the roads are full of cars bringing wounded (past cameras) to hospitals. As for making up a list of 600 wounded before evacuating any, surely you must be kidding.

Then Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum, speaking to Khaled Abu Toameh, denied the Egyptian allegation that Hamas was to blame, "claiming that many of the wounded rejected an Egyptian offer to receive medical treatment in Cairo in protest against Cairo's 'support' for the IDF operation. He accused the Egyptians of taking part in the 'siege' on the Gaza Strip by refusing to reopen the Rafah crossing." Hamas even delivered before the cameras a group of "family members" who claimed they refused to let their wounded go because of their anger at Egypt's behavior. On the contrary, as Ma'an News Agency reported, Hamas would allow no passage of wounded until the border was completely open.

More hollow claims. Gazans don't hesitate to accept medical aid from the Israelis, the people who in their minds actually inflict the wounds. So why not take Egyptian aid? And of the 600 wounded (according to Palestinian sources) all of them, suffering in a ludicrously crowded and understaffed hospital, refused to go to Egypt?

I am glad that this is gone. Part of me still thinks it could have been released in the deep tunnels under cities to kill off some of the rats and roaches, but this IS the safer option.

http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htchem/articles/20090103.aspx

The United States has completed the destruction of the last of its nerve gas weapons stored in the United States. The 66 month effort destroyed 293,000 gallons (over a million liters) of VX and Sarin nerve agent, by incineration. These weapons were stored, for nearly half a century, in underground bunkers in the Anniston Army Depot, 80 kilometers east of Birmingham, Alabama.

Last year, the last of 478,000 M55 115mm nerve gas rockets were destroyed. These 78 inch long, 57 pound, weapons, each carried ten pounds of VX or GB liquefied nerve gas. These rockets were manufactured from the late 1950s, to the early 1960s, and were soon considered obsolete (because of short range and poor construction). It was believed that the propellant would become increasingly liable to spontaneously ignite. Another problem was that the warheads leaked, and required constant monitoring.

Over the last 18 years, about half the U.S. stock of 31,500 tons of chemical weapons (mainly nerve and mustard gas). The destruction is taking place at seven sites. The incineration plant at Anniston will be closed, for about six months, and converted to destroy the mustard gas stored there. Mustard is a more complex chemical, as far as incineration goes, but is less lethal than nerve gas.

About time!

I am so glad that they are going to push the terrorists into a true battle and destroy them.

Good luck and God speed.

Israeli tanks and infantry entered Gaza after nightfall Saturday, launching a ground offensive that the military said would be a "lengthy operation" in a widening war on Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Israeli security officials said the operation is likely to go on for several days, but that the objective is not to reoccupy Gaza. The depth and intensity will also depend on parallel diplomatic efforts, the officials on condition of anonymity in line with military regulations.

"We have many, many targets," Israeli military spokeswoman Maj. Avital Leibovich told CNN, adding that Hamas has been digging smuggling tunnels and other facilities. "To my estimation, it will be a lengthy operation," she said.

"The goal is to try and take over some of the those launching areas that were responsible for the many launches, thousands of launches in fact, toward Israeli civilians," she said. "The civilians are not our target. We are looking only after militants. Hamas militants."

Heavy gun battles were reported as Israeli tanks and infantry soldiers entered Gaza after dark. The forces stayed close to the border area, witnesses said. Heavy artillery fire hit east of Gaza City in areas where Hamas fighters were deployed.

A text message sent by Hamas' military wing, Izzedine al-Qassam, said "the Zionists started approaching the trap which our fighters prepared for them."

Before the ground operation began, defense officials said around 10,000 soldiers massed along the border in recent days. Heavy artillery fire in the early evening was intended to detonate Hamas explosive devices and mines planted along the border area before troops marched in.

Wearing jeans un-Islamic

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

The Religion of Peace and Tolerance makes a new ruling about Sin for the holidays! Hurray!

Hair color and jeans? Really? Why can't they worry about something a little more in line with reality? Like blowing up schools and little girls? Or is that something that Islam allows?

Get involved in reality clerics! Which is a bigger sin and therefore more deserving of a fatwa?

http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Dec292008/national20081229109423.asp

After terming love as "un-Islamic", the Darul Uloom Islamic seminary in Deoband has said that Muslilms wearing jeans is a gunah (sin).

The seminary recently issued a fatwa (religious decree) against the wearing of jeans and transplanting and dyeing of hair in black.
These fatwas have been issued in response to three different queries, according to the Darul Uloom's Darul Ifta (department of fatwa). In response to a query on wearing of jeans by women, especially in cold countries in Western Europe, the seminary has made it clear that "jeans pants and shirts are against the shariat (Islamic rules)". "The physical structure (curves) of the body is reflected if one puts on a jeans. Wearing them by a woman is a sin", the fatwa said adding that it should not be put on by the menfolk also. "It is barred for men as well. Women, who want to look as men, are cursed", the fatwa went on to say.
On a query on dyeing one's hair in black, the fatwa said that any other colour other than black is permissible. "Use of black hair dye is un-Islamic", it said.
On another query pertaining to hair transplant, the Darul Uloom said transplanting artificial hair amounted to "cheating" and is therefore is "illegal". The clerics say that Islam very clearly separates what is right and what is wrong. "He, who does even after knowing that it is wrong, is the sinner", said a senior cleric.

What?

Hamas kills Israelis and no one seems to care and we are all used to it. In this case, Hamas killed an Egyptian! You would think that that someone would care! Besides the locals. If this had been a non-terrorist entity doing the murder, it would have been headlines.

I think the Media is saying: "Who cares? It is only a worthless Arab." Right New York Times?

http://www.sandmonkey.org/2008/12/31/30-thousand-egyptians-turn-out-for-officers-funeral/

The funeral of the killed assassinated dead egyptian border officer was attended by 30,000 of his countrymen, who according to al masry alyoum, turned the event into an anti-Hamas rally, shouting anti-Hamas slogans, and rightly stating that his blood is on Hamas' hands. Not that Hamas gives a fuck or anything, or any of its apologists either. Even Zeinobia, whom I usualy disagree with on almost everything except her obvious and admireable egyptian patriotism, is unhappy with the turnout, claiming that the government is using his death as anti-Hamas propaganda, while forgetting that -if that's true- it's only possible because Hamas killed the man in cold blood, while he was protecting the country.

The violence inherent in the Arab Muslim life style is slowly eroding their culture. Modern life is clashing with the antique ways of the Muslims who believe that Mohammad's time was the ultimate era.

Hamas thinks it is powerful because of Iranian influence and support. They know that other Iranian butt-plugs will be deployed in support of the anti-Israeli effort. Iran is even sending "volunteers" to die at Israeli hands to sow greater chaos in the region.

Everyone except the useful idiots of the "Peace" movement that will support anyone who wishes to defy Western Civilization. Morons.

Go Israel!

THE bitter Israel-Hamas conflict has touched off Arab-Arab conflicts almost as bitter.

Responsibility for the war in Gaza, and for the Palestinian fatalities there, was placed squarely on Hamas by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

"We called the leaders of Hamas and told them, 'Please, do not end the truce'," he said. Hamas ended a six-month truce with Israel two weeks before the Israeli attack.

An Abbas aide, Nimr Hammad, termed the rocket fire into Israel reckless. "The one responsible for the massacre is Hamas," he said. "Hamas should not have given the Israelis a pretext."

Bassam Abu-Sumayyah, a columnist for the daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, accused Hamas of megalomania and said it had acted without even a little bit of political and security sense. It had behaved like a superpower.

"They thought they have a number of missiles and can therefore prevail in a war of such size," he wrote.

A columnist for the PA daily Al-Ayyam, Abdallah Awwad, said that Hamas had made a major mistake in trying to be both a government operating in the open and a resistance organisation that operated underground. "We are paying the price of stupidity and the maniacal

love of being rulers," he said.

Beyond intra-Palestinian disputes, the eruption in Gaza has widened the rift between Egypt, supported by other moderate Arab states, and the Hamas-Iran-Syria-Hezbollah alignment.

Cairo has long feared the radical influence of Hamas on its own Islamist parties. It regards Hamas as a proxy for Iran, which it sees attempting to wrest Muslim leadership in the Middle East from Egypt, even though Iran is not an Arab country.

However, Egypt attempted to broker a reconciliation between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority that would permit a leadership acceptable to all Palestinians to emerge in new elections. Hamas derailed the proposal, to Egypt's fury.

Egypt, in turn, refused to open the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt to Gaza residents, even during the Israeli attack when many Gazans were clamouring to get out. This infuriated Hamas and caused anti-Egyptian protests in much of the Arab world.

For Egypt, the most annoying criticism came from Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the formidable leader of the Hezbollah in Lebanon. Addressing Egyptian citizens, particularly army officers, Nasrallah called on them to protest at Cairo's lack of response to the Israeli attack.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said of Nasrallah's speech: "(He) practically declared war on us." As for Nasrallah's appeal to Egyptian officers, Mr Gheit said of Egypt's army: "They will also protect Egypt against people like you."

About Me

Belisarius

This is my place to vent a little and get things off my chest. I am a retired Marine who has interests in WMDs. Since WMD events are, thankfully, few in number, I spend a lot of time reading about people likely to use them. This takes me on some interesting tangents. I travel alot in my post retirement career and do not always have time to comment as I post articles. Give me a day or two to catch up if I skip comments, please.
