I am busy doing research on the political reasoning behind the Palestinian terrorists and thought that this might help other kafir to understand the way the Palestinians look at the conflict.

The PLO has been violent and bloody because they see no way of ever co-existing with the Jews they hate so much. Hamas takes the violence to new and horrific levels, which have only been controlled by the Israeli determination to not die.

When someone tells you that Peace is possible, then all you have to do is click these two links and show them that Peace as defined by the Palestinians is impossible to achieve without a slaughter. Not that the hippies and peaceniks care about dead Jewish kids.

Article 9: Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. This it is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of their country and their return to it . They also assert their right to normal life in Palestine and to exercise their right to self-determination and sovereignty over it.

Article 10: Commando action constitutes the nucleus of the Palestinian popular liberation war. This requires its escalation, comprehensiveness, and the mobilization of all the Palestinian popular and educational efforts and their organization and involvement in the armed Palestinian revolution. It also requires the achieving of unity for the national (watani) struggle among the different groupings of the Palestinian people, and between the Palestinian people and the Arab masses, so as to secure the continuation of the revolution, its escalation, and victory.

Article 11:The Palestinians will have three mottos: national (wataniyya) unity, national (qawmiyya) mobilization, and liberation.

The principles of the Hamas are stated in their Covenant or Charter, given in full below. Following are highlights. "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."

Seventy years ago, on November 9, 1938, Nazis looted and burned synagogues as well as Jewish-owned stores and houses in Germany and Austria in what became known as "Kristallnacht."

The term "Kristallnacht" ('Night of Broken Glass") refers to the organized anti-Jewish riots in Germany and Austria, November 9-10, 1938. These riots marked a major transition in Nazi policy, and were, in many ways, a harbinger of the "Final Solution."

I am going to be out of the country next week, so here is a post to think on. I hope to post a few more items, but I have to get busy and pack for this special trip.

I also believe the Georgians radically upped the confrontation--in effect, they attacked first. But they did so because they knew about the column of Russian tanks coming in through the Roki Tunnel that connects North and South Ossetia, that is, connects Russian territory to the breakaway region. A Russian invasion was in progress. The Times report addresses this glancingly toward the end:

"Neither Georgia nor its Western allies have as yet provided conclusive evidence that Russia was invading the country or that the situation for Georgians in the Ossetian zone was so dire that a large-scale military attack was necessary, as Mr. Saakashvili insists.

"Georgia has released telephone intercepts indicating that a Russian armored column apparently entered the enclave from Russia early on the Aug. 7, which would be a violation of the peacekeeping rules. Georgia said the column marked the beginning of an invasion. But the intercepts did not show the column's size, composition or mission, and there has not been evidence that it was engaged with Georgian forces until many hours after the Georgian bombardment; Russia insists it was simply a routine logistics train or troop rotation."

This is disingenuous. It makes no sense that the Russkies had some 200 fully armed, fueled tanks halfway into Georgia within two days, as a spontaneous and unplanned response to aggression. They're not that efficient. Both sides knew what was going down.

The Washington Post admits to its pro-Obama bias and even seems to brag about how their biased coverage changed the election. I am glad that they can admit to it, but putting in, after TWO looong years of campaigning, that they did not cover the negatives in Obama's life before the election is just teasing the angry mobs of conservatives. Not that any of us really read the Post anymore. The most I can admit to doing is linking to stories that others, mainly Drudge, have found and linked.

Media bias? What media bias? The Post did a great job of coverage on most points except on Obama and Biden, who was almost totally ignored. They admit it! That means no bias, right?

I would cancel my subscription, but I already did. Maybe I should sign up and cancel again, just to make the point.

The Post's biographical pieces, especially the first ones -- McCain by Michael Leahy and Obama by David Maraniss -- were compelling. Maraniss demystified Obama's growing-up years; the piece on his mother and grandparents was a great read. Leahy's first piece on McCain's father and grandfather, both admirals, told me where McCain got his maverick ways as a kid -- right from the two old men.

But Obama deserved tougher scrutiny than he got, especially of his undergraduate years, his start in Chicago and his relationship with Antoin "Tony" Rezko, who was convicted this year of influence-peddling in Chicago. The Post did nothing on Obama's acknowledged drug use as a teenager.

The Post had good coverage of voters, mainly by Krissah Williams Thompson and Kevin Merida. Anne Hull's stories from Florida, Michigan and Liberty University, and Wil Haygood's story from central Montana brought readers into voters' lives. Jose Antonio Vargas's pieces about campaigns and the Internet were standouts.

One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission. However, I do not agree with those readers who thought The Post did only hatchet jobs on her. There were several good stories on her, the best on page 1 by Sally Jenkins on how Palin grew up in Alaska.

The Taliban have never been all that popular in the areas they controlled, but they have had fear and religion behind them. It has worked well in the past, but the use of terrorism to keep the supporters inline has really been backfiring. I think that they will fail unless they change their tactics soon. Unless Obama wants to give them the aid they need to make the comeback that his predecessor has almost ended. What a pity that would be.

The Taliban are very unpopular out in the countryside. While the drug gangs bring bribes, jobs and guys who have money to spend, the Taliban bring paranoia, persecution and murder. About twenty Afghans a week are being murdered, as suspected police informants, by the Taliban. The Taliban demand that villagers pay "taxes" to support the them, and adhere to strict lifestyle rules (no music or videos, or trimmed beards or schools for girls and so on). These rules are unpopular with most rural Afghans, and it has gotten to the point where many tribes are forming self-defense militias to try and keep the Taliban out. The Pakistani Pushtun tribes are reporting that this can work, but only if the Taliban are weakened to the point where they cannot call in enough reinforcements to trash the militia.

In Pakistan, the army has been aggressively going after the villages that the Taliban come from, arresting Taliban leaders and killing any armed men who do not surrender. This allows the pro-government militias to burn down the homes of known Taliban, and drive the families away. This has forced many pro-Taliban families to back away from Islamic radicalism. This has also caused a growing split between the Afghan and Pakistani Taliban. The Afghan branch has lots of cash from the drug gangs, and their "taxes", while the Pakistan branch is basically broke. The Pakistani Taliban are in a fight for survival, and angry that they are not getting more support from the Afghan Taliban. After all, the Pakistani Taliban sheltered their Afghan brothers for years after 2001. The Afghan Taliban are feeling cocky, and don't seem to care if the Pakistani Taliban are wiped out. It's all that drug money, and maybe some of the drugs, talking.

Now that Traditional Islam is being rejected as NOT being that Peaceful, it is nice to see that the Terrorists and their backers are being rejected. I do wonder what Islam will look like in a couple of decades. With The One leading America and influencing the World, will he allow the Traditionalists to regain the power they have been losing under the relentless attacks of the Americans? I really worry about that.

November 6, 2008: Police believe that only a small minority of Islamic conservatives back terrorism. Even Jemaah Islamiya, long described as the al Qaeda affiliate in the region, has officially turned away from terrorist violence, although some radical members still advocate bombings and such. But most of the radicals have fled the country, and they are being killed or arrested as they desperately seek a sanctuary. Three of these men, arrested earlier this year in Malaysia, went on trial for terrorism last month.

Islamic conservatives have turned to using publicity and political influence to get laws passed to impose more conservative lifestyle rules. These have been met with massive political and popular opposition. Meanwhile, Islamic radical leaders outdo each other with conspiracy theories. For example, senior radical cleric Abu Bakar Bashir now insists that the 2002 Bali bombing (that killed 200) was actually a CIA missile, fired from a ship off shore. Many followers will believe this, but most Indonesians know exactly what happened.

I am glad to see that someone has the brains to use this serious upgrade to the the effective yet not-so-reliable M16. Besides SOCOM. I want one, too! Who will send me one to review on my blog? Anyone?

Turkey has selected a new assault rifle, choosing one that the U.S. Army rejected, but that the U.S. Army Special Forces (and the rest of SOCOM) have adopted. The new rifle is a slightly modified version of the HK 416. This weapon is basically the U.S. M4 assault rifle, with some of the components from the U.S. Army XM8 assault rifle (also rejected by the army). The new Turkish rifle will be called the Mehmetçik-1. It's manufactured with the cooperation of the German firm Heckler & Koch (HK).

It is nice to see that the Left is correct that not all of the terrorists are Muslim. Most are, but a few terrorists are from the Far Right and the Far Left. Just like in the Cold War when most terrorists were from the Far Left. Does anyone remember those days?

I almost wish they were back, just because of the greater stability between the Super Powers. Well, with the Russians resurgent and with the new American President being so very weak, it is only a short while before the Second Cold War erupts. Of course, with America being super weak and being destroyed from with in by the Third Column which has taken control, America might not be able to win this time. Maybe I should brush up on my Russian.

Neil Christopher Lewington was first arrested last week after police discovered a suspected explosive device when they searched him at a railway station in Lowestoft, a coastal city in eastern England.

He was originally charged with possessing an item to cause criminal damage and was released on bail Saturday. But he was immediately re-arrested by Scotland Yard.

Scotland Yard said in a statement that Lewington carried two improvised explosive devices to Lowestoft from Reading, a city near London where he lives, on Oct. 30. It said Lewington was being charged with making or having an explosive substance intended to "to endanger life, or cause serious injury to property in the U.K."

The police statement said Lewington had four containers of weed killer, seven timers, three tennis balls, fire lighters, and a book entitled: "Waffen SS U.K. Members Handbook." The statement said he also had drawings and notes "of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism."

A spokesman for Scotland Yard did not go into further detail, saying only that the incident was not Al-Qaeda-related. He spoke anonymously in line with force policy.

I was reading todays Day by Day cartoon and the quote from Davy Crockett made me think about what a great guy he was. He rose from truly humble beginnings and became a living legend. He would not have stood for the corruption we are faced with in the modern world.

The battle of the Alamo conjures up images of Davy Crockett's coonskin cap and Jim Bowie's famous Bowie knife. Everyone is familiar with the famous rallying cry, "Remember the Alamo!" But how many people honestly know what the battle was about? Who fought it? Or even who won?

The story of the Alamo is one that has been passed down through the years, embellished by generation after generation, until history and legend have become nearly indistinguishable. At times, it takes on the flavor of a tall tale, but in reality we know that things are not always as they seem. Heroes are not always so heroic...selfless sacrifice is not always so selfless. But more often than not, the truth is infinitely more fascinating than the myth.

But my favorite quote from Senator Crockett is

Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don't care whether you are a conservative or a liberal -- when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation's highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind. But let's not let that distract us from the fact that Mr. Obama's election represents a profound, positive milestone in our country's struggle to overcome its long legacy of racial divisions and bigotry. It reminds us of how far we've come, and it's something everyone in our nation should celebrate in whatever little time we now have left.

Now that The One has been elected I am scared. Just as I know most of the other Conservatives are. I am very glad to already be retired and only work part time to support myself! - I fear that the Constitution will be replaced with New Laws.
- I fear that everything is going to cost much more because of all the "Green" Taxes that will be imposed upon us to support the ideals of AlGore and his misguided stupidity. Now that ever growing numbers of scientists are finding that man-made Global Warming was a hoax and that the SUN provides the heat and that the Sun is cooling... Well, all these "Green" Laws will force America into poverty to pay for "aid" to the rest of the world and then the New Ice Age will arrive and we will need to care for all the Canadian Refugees.
- I fear that the Mexicans who are fleeing their Civil/Drug War will find that the Borders are no longer protected and the Drug War in Mexico will spread into the US and The One will play the Chicago/Liberal Blame Game instead of fixing it. Or worse, The One will create his National Civilian Security Force and they will force people like me into the underground - like a Jew in Nazi Germany.
- I fear that The One will abandon all of the hard work our troops have done overseas to improve the world. He will allow the radicals to retake Iraq, Afghanistan and every place else that they have been chased out of. Instead of using troops, he will give the Bad Guys cash which they will use to rearm and then kill and destroy things around the world.
- I fear many more things will happen now that The One has been anointed. I wish we knew more about Obama, but from what is known, we are in for a rough half decade at least.

Another True Hero passes on. The Lord has a special place of Honor for guys like this and I wish I could qualify someday.

Retired Marine Col. John Ripley, who was credited with stopping a column of North Vietnamese tanks by blowing up a pair of bridges during the 1972 Easter Offensive of the Vietnam War, died at home at age 69, friends and relatives said Sunday.

Ripley's son, Stephen Ripley, said his father was found at his Annapolis home Saturday after missing a speaking engagement on Friday. The son said the cause of death had not been determined but it appeared his father died in his sleep.

In a videotaped interview with the U.S. Naval Institute for its Americans at War program, Ripley said he and about 600 South Vietnamese were ordered to "hold and die" against 20,000 North Vietnamese soldiers with about 200 tanks.

"I'll never forget that order, 'hold and die'," Ripley said. The only way to stop the enormous force with their tiny force was to destroy the bridge, he said.

"The idea that I would be able to even finish the job before the enemy got me was ludicrous," Ripley said. "When you know you're not going to make it, a wonderful thing happens: You stop being cluttered by the feeling that you're going to save your butt."
